I always had a passion for styling hair even as a small child all my dolls had long hair so I could cut and style them. My first job was a shampoo girl in downtown Norfolk for Joseph and Fran Russo in their Norfolk salon as well as in their Virginia Beach shop. They were both educators , and I would travel with them as their hair model. I then moved to Newport News and worked in Mercury Mall for Ruth Staples house of Beauty . Three years later I met and married Sam Bailey ,We had a daughter Stacy. After being a at home mom for six months I went back to work for Glen West at Prime Cut. I became a single-parent and decided to buy a house and move my business there. This worked out extremely well for Stacy and I till I remarried Frank Kleczewski in 1995. Frank help me remodel and open VillageStyllist in November 1999.
I now work with a fabulous team of stylist who are like family to me and make going to work a pleasure and fun every day. I am certified by Framesi in coloring and perming hair extensions by So-Cap and Percision cutting by Nexus , I also do acrylic nails , facial waxing and special occasion styles. I was born and educated in the United Kingdom. After finishing school, I attended a two year course at Stow College of Hairdressing, now called Central College Glasgow, Scotland. My Certification is provided through The City and Guilds of London Institute. I worked and served a five year apprenticeship which included two years in a hair salon.
While serving my apprenticeship, I gained a firsthand professional, education in the technique of precision hair styling while using clippers and sheers. My early education in the precise detail of mixing color worked to my advantage. My skill with clippers and sheers combined with the science behind today’s hair coloring and highlighting techniques makes me a highly trained professional.
In 1984 received my certificate from the board members of cosmetology in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
I enjoy attending today’s latest hair shows and learning more about my profession. Including today’s interest in the use Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy. In taking on this new process, I have increased the interest of my client base and improved my overall abilities.
In my professional years in this industry, my clients are my business. I am flexible with what works for my client. I have been blessed with the trust and loyalty of my clients and their family.

I do manicures and pedicures as well. I specialize in color correction, keratin hair, and thermal hair straightening.

I use a variety of products depending on my customers needs. Some specialty products consist of Paul Mitchell, Joico, L’Oreal, and yes, American Crew for men.
Police Officers, Firemen, and the men and women that protect our country in the Military get their discount. My customers have been my family for years, not only in my home, but in theirs; including hospitals, nursing homes, and unfortunately, in their resting place.
I have worked for Mastercuts (New Market North); to the peaceful place on the earth-Giorgio’s (Poquoson). Life has taken me through many voyages, and taught me many things and introduced me to many people. I’ve worked and supervised for Supercuts, then helped open a very special shop dear to my heart, called Starcuts (Big Bethel Rd).
